RSO, short for Rick Simpson Oil, is named after Canadian freedom fighter and former cancer patient Rick Simpson, who claimed to have cured himself of skin cancer. It is extracted using pure ethanol as a soak and then distilling the resulting liquid via evaporation into a dark green, almost black liquid with a motor oil consistency.
